Great unit, good location, clean and well appointed. Would stay there again.

The condo is beautiful with nice extras (shampoo, conditioner, hand/body gel, paper products, beach chairs, umbrella, and especially the small cooler with ice packs ready in the freezer) Everything in the condo is great - beds, bathrooms (loved the nice showers), washer/dryer, patios (loved listening to the birds), nice kitchen and living room. The Nihi Kai Villas are surrounded by beautiful flowers and lush greenery. Nice pool and tennis courts. The location is great! Walking distance to Brennecke’s Beach and Poipu Beach. Close to Grand Hyatt Luau and shipwreck beach. This is the perfect condo to stay in while visiting the beautiful island of Kauai!

Clean, had everything we needed.

The location was perfect. Easy walk to Brennecke and Poipu beaches. Easy access to highways. Construction caused absolutely no issues. Very well stocked kitchen. The only con would be the design of the unit with both bathrooms down a flight of stairs adjacent to bedrooms.

Very clean, very up to date, everything in working order, well appointed, best of all very comfortable, and great location. Walked to Poipu every morning to check out the turtles and seals. We slept so well, the mattress and pillows more comfortable than our own at home. We highly recommend.

Wonderful property was well maintained and had everything in the unit you would need. Up to date bathrooms and appliances as well as AC throughout were great. Location was perfect near the ocean. Heated pool was great for relaxing. Owner was very responsive.

Easy to walk to everything.

Unit #501 was a perfect fit for our family in Poipu. The unit was impeccably clean, well outfitted, and roomy. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels and coolers for the short walk to the beach. The Nihi Kai property was lovely and our family had fun at the pool. We\'d absolutely rent here again!

The room was messy and dusty and there were only 2 wash clothes and 2 hand towels in the bathroom so we had to keep washing Also there we did not receive any instructions previous to arrival we did not know where to go. And the outdoor pool smelled awful like sewage waste hard to walk by let alone swim in it. But the island was beautiful as usual and everyone was very pleasant

What a great location! This unit was just as described and a very quick walk to the beach where there was a monk seal on the sand and one next to us in the water. We enjoyed walking down to the beach at sunset and socializing with others. The garden view is lovely, but we also sat on the back covered porch for a change of scenery. Lots of space…I don’t think my husband and I used 25% of it. The owner was very responsive and helpful .

Our family loved this little getaway just steps away from beautiful beaches! The condo was clean and had all the kitchen, bathroom, and beach essentials (even beach chairs) to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We can\'t wait to stay again!

Nice complex, quiet, tranquil. Within walking distance to the beach. Was nice to have a grill for use. Townhouse was set up with extra items which you don\'t think about until it is needed. It was great to be able to use the laundry. Sunrises and sunsets were glorious. It was a treat to walk to the beach to watch the green turtles come in to sleep at night. Great place.

My wife and I stayed for a few days with our 2 close friends before we all moved into our timeshare down the street for a week. The set up is absolutely perfect for 2 couples! Lots of room upstairs for cards and meals at night, and great space with separate bathrooms for each couple downstairs (although fair warning - the walls between rooms downstairs are quite thin!

A very nice and well stocked townhouse steps from the beach and beautiful sunsets. Top notch in every way. The owner went out of her way to return a few items we left behind when we checked out. Highly recommend!

Super nice place with close access to the beach. Would come back

Property owners were great with replying to inquiries. The kitchen was stocked with every dish, utensil, pot or pan, as we did lots of cooking in. When booking, I may have over looked all the stairs. The photos showed a ground level patio off the master. I am disabled and this did cause problems for me as there is a flight of stairs to access the unit to the kitchen and living area then all bathrooms and bedrooms are back down another flight of stairs. Otherwise we loved our stay, great property!

This is a great location, very central to everything. Great for kids as its close to Poipu beach and a public playground too. It worked well for us two adults and two little kids. They also had beach chairs and an umbrella to use, which was nice.

16 days in paradise. Updated condo, reasonably priced, plenty of space, washer/dryer, fans and AC, great location, walking distance to Poipu Beach, ocean view from lanai. Easy check in. I used the community grills nearly every night. Maureen was helpful and very responsive. She graciously allowed us to check out late. Small issues included some utensils and dishes had been put away dirty. No beach chairs or umbrella available, but we bought some and owner reimbursed us for them. I highly recommend this condo.

This home is located in a great location that is close by to the beach and restaurants. The beach nearby has sleeping turtles that you can see on morning walks. The modern fans and air conditioning is a definite plus!

We had a great stay from the moment we connected with Maureen to walking into a spotlessly clean and calming condo! Everything we needed was available. Great location. We will book it again!

This condo is excellent. It was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked, even with unusual items. It was in a wonderful neighborhood that was close to everything in the south. The reservation and check in process were super easy, and the manager/owner was very communicative. The only slightly negative thing was that the sprinklers turned on at 2am, and made a ton of noise. I am not sure if one of the sprinkler heads was broken(?), but the water hit the bedroom windows and made a huge noise. It woke us up the two nights they turned on and kept us awake until they switched off. But that\'s a tiny inconvenience. Everything else was outstanding.

Pictures reflected property accurately. Wonderfully stocked kitchen and excellent communication with owner. Stairs lead up to entry and down to bathrooms and bedrooms so if mobility is an issue, this may not be the unit to book. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Poipu. The condo was clean and well stocked. The beach is just a short walk with great snorkeling and plenty of sea turtles. This is a great place for a couple and two children or two couples if one doesn’t mind sleeping in different beds. Outside noise was not a problem.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay to Maureen's condo! The NiHi Kai Villas are in the perfect location, right on Poipu Beach and near the best local restaurants and shops. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and is very clean. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into their condo offering you everything you'd possibly need for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms are relaxing and comfy, each with a beautiful new ensuite bath. If you'd like to cook during your stay , the kitchen is equipped with top of the line cooking and dining accessories. The pool which is beachfront is the perfect place to get some warm Kauai sun or read a book. Overall, you can ask for a more beautiful and peaceful setting. A real find! We hope to return soon!

This 2 bedroom condo walkable to Poipu beach, has absolutely everything you could need. Full kitchen with more utensils and pans than many homes. Chairs for beach, boogie board and kiddie sand toys included! There are 4 separate Lanais to relax on just in case you need time apart!

Very comfortable beds, pillows, linens. Don’t stay anywhere else!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is clean and exactly as advertised. The kitchen is well stocked and the appliances are in great shape. We also enjoyed the layout which is somewhat unique in the area. Maureen was very responsive and helpful as well!

We love this condo. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything that we need. We ended only eating out twice and ate most of our meals here. It’s a perfect location with walking distance to the beach and beginning of the beautiful trail with beach view by Hyatt. Having the washer and dryer is also a plus. We were able to checkout late too!

Great. The bathrooms are especially well done. The TV had a lot of remotes and if one wasn\'t working properly it was hard to just turn on the basic channels. We weren\'t able to access local news.

This unit is extremely posh. Top-notch upgrades throughout and well provisioned - nothing to complain about! If you want a beautiful condo with a short walk to the water your won\'t be disappointed.

The communication with the owner, Maureen was thorough from the time we booked 6 months in advance of our visit to Kauai up until our visit date. We were pleased to see how clean and spacious this vacation home was upon entering and realizing all the instructions and wifi information was readily available. We were also super pleased to find out that A/C was installed as June was very humid and were skeptical about the ceiling fans only. The newly renovated bathrooms looked immaculate! We loved the stand up showers. Proximity by car to the Poipu shopping complexes and the beach were also a highlight of the stay at this property. We caution opening the lockbox at the front door slowly as we were clumsy a few times and had the key shuffle over the railing onto the ground. Overall, we loved our 3 day stay in Kauai at this place!

Enjoyed our stay very much. 'specially liked the ability to call home to Canada. We don't have that often on Kauai. Bruce and Maureen have a well-equipped unit and are quick to correct any issues, should they arise.

Loved the well cared for grounds

This location was perfect to walk to many restaurants ( about a mile for most, but we enjoy walking) and the beach. The condo was well stocked, and the washer and dryer were an added bonus. The owner was very helpful and easy to reach. The only down side was the neighborhood rooster which was awake before dawn most days. The room on the front could hear him, but the back was quieter. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Apartment was great, we had an awesome vacation visiting Kauai's west side for hiking, boat tours & surfing! However, condo needs updating for toilets-flush very slowly & use lots of water, dish washer takes 2 hours & 25 minutes to wash dishes, & kitchen faucet is a bit shaky...in essence, if bathrooms & kitchen were updated, it would be better for renters. Also, air conditioning in bedrooms would be pretty cool! Other than updating, condo is in a great location-near Poipu beach! We had a great time!

Well, this was my 6th stay in #501- so accommodative, everything you could want/need for a glorious visit to Poipu. This time we were 4 "gals" (my adult daughter, her best friend, and my best friend of nearly 65yrs!), no husbands this trip, and it worked out perfectly! You can make your meals, or restaurants/shopping within easy drive, or walkable. We really enjoyed a beachfront bar, the Waiohi (excellent Mai-tais!). Some neat tourist attractions nearby like Luau's/catamaran excursion/hikes are well worth it. We think the south shore of Kauai is the best, and Nihi Kai Villas a great location, even one of the best places to view sea turtles, walk to beach. Drinking coffee, or wine just steps out to the Villa's wall is delightful- watching the waves, turtles, enjoying the trade winds. Enjoy!

Everything about our stay was perfect! We have two children and the property and the location of Nihi Kai was ideal. Short walk to the pool and to the beaches. A number of nice beaches right near the property: Brennekes, Poipu, Poipu Point for long board and short board surfing. You have options for extremely calm baby beach, body boarding, body surfing, snorkeling, and more. We were extremely comfortable in the condo, slept great, and appreciated the trade winds blowing through the condo day and night. What a nice place! We cooked almost all of our meals and appreciated that the kitchen is very well stocked with all the utensils, pots, pans, pyrex, and even foil and plastic baggies. It was a condo prepared for people who enjoy cooking. Thank you, Maureen and Bruce

Condo was roomy and a nice set up for our family of four. Living room is comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen is very well stocked. Enjoyed breakfast and cocktails on the back lanai. Master bed was a little soft, but maybe that\'s just me. Bathrooms are dated - hold down the handle for the entire flush. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. We had great fun in the big pool. Perfect location with the beach right across the street and Poipu Beach Park is just a five minute walk. Communication with Maureen was timely and pleasant. HOT TIPS -- Groceries at Big Save, Poke Bowl at Koloa Fish Market, Happy Hour at Brennecke's Beach Broiler... We would love to visit again, Mahalo!

Extremely well kept condo with handsome furnishing, well stock kitchen with high end cooking supplies, meticulously cleaned and tasteltfully decorated. Thoughtful ammmenties included and arranged perfectly for comfortable stay. No clutter of belongings or furniture. Service from owner was top rate with quick responses and thorough information. Arrival and departure Instruction clear and simple. Very pleased and impressed!

We really enjoyed staying at the condo. Kitchen was fully stocked with every pot and utensil known to man. Having the washer and dryer was really nice. Condo is close to the beach and all of the nice restaurants. Plenty of parking. Make sure you try breakfast at Little Fish Coffee in Poipu and grab a burrito at Da Crack in Poipu.

The Condo has everything we needed to cook great fish that we bought at the Koloa Fish Market. From wine glasses to coffee cups, it had what we needed. Many little touches made this place easy to walk in and enjoy. The Condo has windows on opposite ends which allows for great airflow. And Lanais on both ends were a bonus. Great place!

Located within an easy walk to Poipu Beach (we saw Hawaiian monk seals and green sea turtles daily), this condo checks all the boxes. Clean, well-stocked, lovely furnishings, and a communicative owner. When the ocean is too rough you can swim in the outdoor swimming pool.

This was a very comfortable condo for two couples to stay in. It’s nicely provisioned with a few basic foods - coffee, popcorn, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. The walk to Poipu beach is only 10-15 minutes and we saw monk seals and sea turtles there pretty much every morning. It’s quiet and there is an off-street parking lot.

The only downside is that the front door is on the upper level and the bedrooms are on the lower level, for carrying suitcases.

So pack light or get strong! Would definitely stay here again.

The condo was easy to find, parking was convenient and ample, and check in a breeze. The unit had everything we needed. It was great to have the full, well stocked kitchen. The pool area was lovely. Very short walk to the beach and a convenient foot washing area near the edge of the resort when returning. (Not that all of the beautiful soft white beach sand ever really comes off!) Loved the 2 beach chairs with the pouches and carrying straps! (We did end up purchasing a beach umbrella at Costco, which is a necessity on a sunny day in Hawaii.) We also appreciated the beach towels and small cooler.

Overall, we had a wonderful week on Kauai. If I could have rated the condo a 4.5 I would done so.

Our only issues, and most were minor, were:

- Bathrooms definitely showing their age. Cleanliness never an issue but it’s probably time for a bathroom renovation.

- The washing machine sounded like a 787 taking off when spinning. Very loud! Was happy to have a washer and dryer, though.

- Noise from adjacent units was problematic at times. We assume this is because we were vacationing over the holidays, when there were many large family groups and children staying in the units. We doubt this would be an issue at another time of year.

- Sleepng temperature in bedrooms was never a problem. The breeze and overhead fan made sleeping cool and comfortable. The master bedroom and bathroom were quite warm during the day, however, even with fully closing the door, window and blinds to try and keep it cool. We honestly were not in the bedroom much at all during the day except to take post-beach showers. It was the process of getting dressed, drying one’s hair, applying make up, etc. after showering that was tough. I found I had to go upstairs to cool off a couple of times while trying to get ready after an afternoon shower. It may not be an issue for everyone, but as a woman of a certain age I found it challenging. Not a deal breaker, though.

Thank you to Maureen, Bruce and the cleaning crew for a memorable stay in the Poipu area. We loved our vacation and look forward to our next trip.

Loved our stay in the condo in Kauai. The condo was conveniently located, a short walk to Poipu beach, well stocked with a fully fonctional kitchen and pretty quiet. Overall, it worked very well for us as a family of four. There is ample parking, a very nice pool overlooking the ocean and even tennis courts. The Poipu beach is within walking distance and it is a great place for smaller kids to swim, as well as a restaurant. A car is needed for anything else and exploring the beautiful island of Kauai. Great communication with the owners and overall great experience. Would stay there again.

Location: the apartment is 5-10 minute walk form Poipu beach, which is one of the best beaches around (especially for kids). The interior is beautiful, truly a better home away from home. The trade winds and fans usually provide adequate airflow and tolerabe temperatures during night.

Quiet and very well maintained property. We loved being so close to the water, everything within walking distance. Owners take great pride in property. Definitely will keep this on our list of properties to come back to.

Loved pretty much everything.

I stayed here with my husband and 3 year old son. The location is great. It is 2 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks from a baby beach and large ocean front green space/park. This is a great place for people with or without kids. The pool has an ocean view and is heated. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of wine glasses, cups, sharp knives and nice pans. The owner is very responsive and check in was a breeze. I highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this condo. It had all the emenities you could ask for from wine glasses to washer and dryer. it was like being at home except in Hawaii.

Maureen: well tomorrow we leave this beautiful little piece of Paradise. Would like to thank you for all your assistance and kindness. What a pleasure to arrive to the condo and have the fans going windows open and ice from the ice maker. Everything is just as pictured and described. Would love to go back

I stayed here with my husband and another couple. The layout for this was great, as each bedroom has its own full bathroom so each couple has some privacy. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies and the unit is very clean. It is about a 15-minute walk to the Sheraton beach, which is where we prefer to swim. Parking is a breeze and unit is easy to access through the coded lock box when you arrive. Owners have kindly stocked the unit with shampoo, conditioners, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, beach and shower towels, and beach chairs, etc. The owners are also very kind and available to answer questions via email, which made us feel confident renting from them (especially as first time renters). Only downside to the place is that it does not have a jacuzzi. The condo uses what appears to be a jacuzzi as a kid pool. I mistook the pictures online as showing a jacuzzi, but this is in fact, the kid pool.

Our travel to Poipu, Kauai and the stay at your condo was wonderful. The accommodations were very attractive and the complex was beautiful. The three of us had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Note: Please check the electric outlet in the front bathroom. We had trouble and the outlets may need replacement/adjustments.

The fact that this is our 4th stay at #501 kind of speaks for itself. It just simply can't be beat. The location is perfect within a very short walk of Poipu Beach and only a two minute drive to shopping and several great restaurants. There is also a lovely 15 minute walk to the Grand Hyatt which has a wonderful Sunday Brunch. Maureen is great to work with and very responsive! The condo is extremely clean and well decorated. It is furnished with anything you need to make your stay perfect. Don't hesitate to contact Maureen and to start making unforgettable memories. I know we will!!

We spent a wonderful week at NIHI KAI in Poipu. This condo was very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, and lots of extras like chairs, towels and a cooler for the beach, Kauai tour books, and 2 great outdoor locations for morning coffee. There are several very nice restaurants within driving distance, both spendy and inexpensive. Plus, this condo is in a great location on the island. We were just a few minutes walk away from the beach and having a car made touring the island to be both interesting and easy. We highly recommend this condo, and hope to return soon!

We truly enjoyed our stay in Poipu and this unit at the Nihi Kai Villa was a perfect set up for our family. Clean and comfortable....thanks for helping to make our trip a wonderful one.

We were 2 couples staying in a 2 bedroom unit. Kitchen was nicely upgraded and well equipped. We enjoyed the lanai for morning coffees and evening sunsets. We enjoyed the use of 4 beach chairs and 2 beach mats in the condo. Pool was great! Water was warm and we never had a problem getting a chair. Next time we will look closer at the layout of the unit. Our bedrooms were on the lower level, which felt like going into a basement.

This condo was perfect for our vacation that included 2 middle aged couples. The condo itself was immaculate and well equipped and provided plenty of space including 4lanais! We especially loved that there was a nice sunny one to enjoy our morning coffee on and a nice shady one for afternoon happy hour!

We loved the location and the grounds as well as the pool are immaculate! We can't wait to return 🙂

The location is great with a very short walk to the beach. The condo itself is beautifully furnished.. Beach towels and chairs included! I would rent again.

The condo is very conveniently located on Poipu, with a peek a boo view of the beach. Although dated, it is super clean and comfortable. The strata has a lot of rules, such as no talking on your phone while on the lanai, and no hanging of towels or clothing over the railing. Also, and super disappointing for me was the fact that the pool and hot tub are closed at 8pm.

This is a very nice condo ... near the beach ... near several restaurants and shopping areas. You can actually walk to many of them. Beautiful sunsets. The condo itself is very clean, modern and well-maintained. This was my 5th trip to Kauai, and this is one of the best places I've stayed.

A great location right near a perfect snorkeling beach (which also has a view of a gorgeous sunset), and is right by a park! Restaurants and markets are just a quick drive (5min) or short walk away! We never used the pool because the beach was so close! The house has everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen to boogie boards and even an ice chest if you feel like picnicking. It was perfect for our honeymoon and first time to Kauai!

We have been in Poipu 8 times, and this was our 5th in Nihi Kai Villas #501. We fondly call this unit "our condo," and have shared it with several friends. The humidity was high, but the fans and ventilation in 501 were wonderful (no air conditioning needed, honestly!). It is completely accommodative, and very centrally located to restaurants, shopping, church, events, walks/hikes, and most of all the BEST beaches- complete with numerous turtles, & great snorkeling. This trip we brought our 10y/o granddaughter who absolutely loved the pool- which has the best view of the ocean! We are so appreciative to Maureen & Bruce, and if we needed any help, their contact Terri is very accessible. We definitely recommend this unit!!

We rented this condo when we came to Kauai to get married. The experience was outstanding. The condo is clean, very well stocked and maintained, and is in the perfect location. It is within walking distance to Poipu beach and hiking trails. Both Maureen and Terri were extremely helpful and were available to us at any time. I would highly recommend this unit!!

We have been to Po'ipu many times and we LOVE to stay at Nihi Kai. We love the location to our favorite beaches, the pool and the price. We have stayed in two of Maureen's units and found both to be great. The owner (Maureen) and the local caretaker (Terry) are fabulous.

We are a retired couple who have been staying in the Poipu area in the winter for 30 years. We can unequivocally say that our favorite place to stay is Nihi Kai Villas and that Unit 501 is our favorite so far. In fact, we have stayed in this unit for the last six winters. The owners have been great friends to us and we have been treated extremely well by them and their on-island contact. The unit is well equipped and has everything we need for an extended stay. The location is nearly perfect - beaches, restaurants, and other attractions are close by. In the times that we have stayed in this unit, there has been no need for fans or air conditioning as the cross-ventilation is terrific. All in all, it has been a wonderful experience.

This was a great condo and we really enjoyed it. Our group consisted of two couples so having two ensuites was perfect. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked with dishes, pans, silverware and unit was nice and clean. Walk to beach was a breeze. We had a small issue with one of the bathroom sinks not draining properly so I called maintenance. They were there within a couple hours and had the problem taken care of. The only negative is that the two lanais off the bedrooms were not really usable because there was not any seating. We would recommend this rental.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Poipu Beach condo. Was spacious and exactly as described. Very quiet and peaceful area - specific directions given by owner will get you there; be aware can be a confusing neighborhood. Even though the other units are fairly close due to the way it is situated and shrubs you have a great deal of privacy. Can see a little bit of the Pacific Ocean from the S (main Lanai). Only thing I would warn anyone of.... To access the unit you must climb 10-12 steps this gives you access to the upper level; where the kitchen, dining and living room are. You must then climb down 10-12 steps to access the two bedrooms and bathrooms. We had my 78 year old Mother with us and was NOT a problem - but if someone in your party has difficulty with steps please take into consideration. Condo was very well appointed and we did not want for anything.

This was a super condo and my family really enjoyed the time that we spent in it. It is a bit tucked away but that makes for a very quiet stay as about the only noise that you hear is from the neighbors (everyone was pretty respectful and by ten PM, it was quiet). The location is excellent, only a couple of minutes walk to the beach (the waves were probably 6-8 feet, which made for quite a bit of excitement) along with a couple of nearby restaurants (Casa di Amici is about a one minute walk across the street and it is a very good Italian restaurant while Brennecke's Beach Broiler is about a five minute walk and is located right across the street from the beach) and there are a couple of grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive (Big Save for most items, Living Foods for specialty items and in the plaza where Living Foods is located, there are a bunch of restaurants). The condo is fully equipped with everyone that you need. You need to go up a flight of stairs to get to the front door and enter into a spacious upstairs where there is a full kitchen (all modern and up to date appliances), a dining room area (table with four chairs) and a living room room area (couch, flat screen TV, stereo). There is strong wi-fi throughout the condo. When you get downstairs (inside flight of stairs), there are two bedrooms (one with a King bed, bathroom and very small flat screen TV and the other one with two twin beds and another bathroom just outside in the hallway) along with the washer/dryer combo and a small patio. The grounds are really nice and well tended to with lots of flowers and plants along with a nice BBQ area (two nice sized BBQ's along with picnic tables), tennis courts and a pool (very refreshing). There's not much of a view from the condo but just step outside and take a walk around the area (Grand Hyatt is about 15-20 minutes away) to get plenty of gorgeous views. We had a couple of small issues when we arrived with the refrigerator but I made a quick call to the local person Terri and she was able to help me out. There are fans throughout the condo to get a nice air flow going but I do have to admit that it would have been nice to have a/c for a couple of the hotter days. However, with electricity prices being the highest in the USA, it's no surprise that a/c is hard to find. 🙂 It was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this property.

This property was like a home away from home. Everything we could possibly need or want was here in this beautiful condo. From the moment we walked in till the day we left, we were impressed. Clean, well appointed, tastefully decorated and the gardens - WOW! We never wanted to leave and now that we are home in Australia we keep talking about returning. We would recommend this property to anyone. We stayed there with our 2 teenage children and there was more than enough room for all of us. The body boards were well used 🙂 The pool was great and the location was awesome. I walked across the road and snorkelled with the turtles every day. Thank you, Maureen. We've been to Kauai 14 times over the past 17 years (can you tell we LOVE KAUAI?) and for our last three visits, have stayed in this beautiful condo - a home away from home! It's location, beautiful interior, comfort and all you need from the kitchen to the beds is top notch all the way. Close proximity to the turtle cove, Brenneke's Beach, Poipu Beach, restaurants, and shopping, it's perfect in every way. Much Aloha and Mahalo Maureen & Bruce.

My wife and I were joined by our two kids for Christmas/New Years (23 days) and to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. While we have been to the other Hawaiian islands this was our first trip to Kauai. We saved the best for last! This unit was an excellent choice and will certainly book it again for a future visit. The property is ideally located just steps away from the amazing Brennecke and Poipu breaches and easy walking distance from shopping and restaurants. The grounds are impressive and well maintained including the pool and tennis courts which we used regularly. The unit is very clean and well appointed with all of the kitchenware, appliances and dishes you require. The TVs, electronics, wifi and internet telephone were appreciated and the boogie boards, beach chairs and coolers were well used. The unit is very quiet and kept cool without the requirement for AC, which was great. We highly recommend this property and unit.

My family and I needed some rest and relaxation. We found it here at rental 81166. The condo was well equipped and nicely done. We played and played. The relaxful days were great. The BBQ was great and the convienace of the condo was so great. We will return again hopefully soon. It was quiet and well kept grounds. Easy walk to the beach for boogie boarding and watching the beautiful sunsets on the ocean.

The condo is fantastic! It is beautifully renovated and has very nice furnishings. The owners of the condo were excellent as they were very prompt and helpful in what ever we needed. The grounds are beautiful and the location is stellar. I would highly recommend this property! This would be a condo that we would definitely book again. Perfect location, all we wanted to see and do was just a short trip away. The photos are accurate but do not do justice to the property and grounds, absolutely fabulous. Any trip to Kauai in our future will include this unit. The well maintained pool was a nice break from the salt water and waves. The owners made the process smooth and trouble free. Within easy walking distance is Brennecke's Beach and Poipu beach and our evenings would not be complete without shaved ice from Brennecke's. As first time visitors to the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai was the third stop on our journey to visit four islands. Using the recommendation of a co-worker, we narrowed our selection of VRBO listings to the Poipu area. With many to choose from, the details of your condo and attached pictures presented the facility as a suitable choice. After spending 17 days at Nihi Kai Villas, we were pleasantly surprised. This condo listing was exactly as detailed, everything was there to satisfy our daily needs. We enjoyed every moment in the condo when we weren't touring the entire island. Sleeping was made easier by the bedrooms in the lower level and the very comfortable beds.

We found a detailed pamphlet providing details of many restaurants, farmers markets, attractions and stores in the Poipu area. The property was very beautiful with numerous tropical flowers and trees to enhance our vacation pleasure. Nihi Kai Villas are well maintained by staff that were more than willing to talk to visitors and provide recommendations if asked.

Our close proximity to the ocean, Brennecke Beach and Poipu Beach (just a little further west) were convenient for morning and evening walks. Poipu Beach was the site for many monk seals and green turtle sightings where they came on shore to bask in the sun, just like tourists. Unfortunately, the whale season was coming to an end reducing our overall sightings.

Maureen and Bruce...We thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy this little piece of heaven. Your condo was wonderful, providing us total relaxation and ideally located on the south shoreline of Kauai.

The VRBO listing provided us everything we could want and then some. We plan to return to enjoy more of the complex, your condo, proximity to nearby towns, restaurants (in the area and beyond) and wildlife sightings. Whale watching and a snorkel tour to the Pali Coast will be a must for our next visit to Kauai.

This is our fourth consecutive stay of almost 3 months in this unit. After many years staying in numerous units in the area, we have found our home! The owners have maintained this unit in wonderful condition since it was upgraded and renovated. It is an exceptionally well equipped and maintained unit that we are very happy with and we don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation.

This property is beautifully appointed, clean, with a well equipped kitchen and a great location. It made it so nice for walking in the morning if you are the early bird and want to find a cup of Joe, or walking to dinner in the evening. Nice pool, beautifully kept grounds. Couldn't have asked for more! We had dinner at Brenneke's and Kalapaki Joe's. Both places were great! Close to the Dive Shop and Koloa Landing for easy shore diving and fun to just cross the street and see turtles surfing in the waves. We would love to rent here again!

We spent such a wonderful 10 days in this condo it's taken me a month to get over having to return home. What a perfect location. We could walk to several lovely beaches as well as many restaurants. The condo felt like home, fully furnished, comfortable beds, and we could'nt think of a single thing that we needed that wasn't already there....from beach chairs and coolers, to even a bag of ice in the freezer. And we too, have jointed the Wallnuts Club to watch the sunsets and the completely captivating sea turtles. It's obvious how much care has gone into making each stay perfect

Our stay was wonderful and we can't wait to come back to your little corner of heaven. Our entire family agreed that it was the vacation of our lives, and the owner's couldn't have been more informative and responsive to our needs. The unit was in great shape and the location was perfect for us being just away from the beach foot traffic but a two minute walk to the beach for the sea turtle viewing, snorkeling, and boodie boarding. We recently had a ladies trip in Kauai and we loved our stay at the Nihi Kai Villas. The condo really is a short walk to Poipu Beach and we enjoyed being able to have breakfast out in the lanai and then heading out to relax/swim/snorkel at the beach. The condo was well stocked with all the essentials, pots/pans/dishes/towels, we loved it and would highly recommend it!

We have been visiting Poipu annually since 1985, and have stayed at Nihi Kai Villas since 1992. For each of the last three years, we have stayed for three winter months in Unit 501 and have absolutley loved it. The unit is very nicely decorated, always well equipped, and kept spotlessly clean. The owners and the on-island rep are great to deal with and take pains to look after all our needs (which are few!). We highly recommend this unit to anyone who is thinking of visiting Kauai.

We just returned from almost a month in this condo and have already booked for a return visit. The location in Poipu is the best with everything you could want in a vacation rental. The grounds were great and very well taken care of. I will recommend this rental and the other 2 the owners have also as we had relatives staying in them and they were equally great. My wife, 22 month old son and I stayed at Nihi Kai for a week. It was a perfect family vacation. The island is fantastic, and the condo made for a great stay – with a great pool, barbecue, picnic tables, patios with great views and beautiful grounds. We’d recommend a trip to Kauai at the Nihi Kai villas to anyone looking for a great family getaway. We can’t wait to come back.

PERFECT- our 4th Kauai trip, 1st stay Nihi Kai! Ideal location for beach activities (terrific snorkling), great proximity for shopping, resturants, hiking ("gotta do" the Sleeping Giant) & extended walks, & super area for watching BIG crashing waves & turtles- we were "Wallnuts" almost each eveing! This condo sits quietly in the complex, amidst lovely Botanical Gardens We were want for nothing- really! We had easy access & beautiful driving all over the island. We love Keoki's outdoor dining, & everyone has to get a Puka Dog! Having a COSTCO nearby is a real plus. This condo is a definite return destination for us- HUGE Mahalo, Maureen & Bruce!

It's hard to believe that we\'ve been home for two weeks now:(

I wanted you to know that we had one of the best times ever! Truly a memory maker.

From the moment we opened the door to the day we had to lock it for the last time we felt at home the entire time.

We saw some of the most magnificent waves that we've ever been able to witness in person. We were told that there was a storm that originated in Fiji which caused them. The local surfers were stoked, however most of the beaches were closed to swimming for a few days due to the tremendous tide activity. Of course on those days we went inland and hiked some rugged and beautiful trails leading to hidden waterfalls that most "tourist" never get a chance to see.

Your kitchen is very well equipped making it easy to prepare our gourmet dinners! They were enjoyed on the lanai with the evening breeze cooling our brow as we reflected on the day together.

Turtles. . . . . . I must have counted dozens every day hanging out in that little cove just in front of the entrance to the villas. Crafty little (and some very big) fellas; amazing how they navigate the surf without getting slammed against the rocks. I actually think they wink at you when they pop their heads up for air:) Amazing creatures; graceful and yet so very quick and agile. I could write a mini novel about our trip, however I'll end it here with a very simple but sincere statement:

We were blessed.

Your numerous responses to our many questions, as well as your graciousness in alllowing us a late check-out were wonderfully comforting to relieve some anxiousness.

Your apartment is beautifully appointed with so many accesories. You essentially negated the need for us to want for anything. The location touches the beach road which is a wonderful perk that I think you could emphasize even more in your marketing. We were four adults, two couples staying at this wonderful condo in July, 2010. The condo is spotless, filled with every kitchen item you could possibly need. Cooking was so easy. Beds and pillows are very, very comfortable in two separate bedrooms with a separate bath for each. There is a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, tennis rackets and snorkel gear. The beach is one block away, the best snorkeling beach around. Boogy boarding there too! Turtles abound in the water. It is soooo quiet and peaceful at night. Having breakfast on the lanai was such a treat every morning, sitting and looking out at the water and the lovely plumeria trees. The grounds are spotless, the swimming pool area relaxing and refreshing.

The IPOD dock was a special treat.

This condo had every single thing you could need. We so appreciate the cleanliness and fresh look the place has. It was close to everything we needed.I will be recommending it to many friends. In reality it is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Thanks for making our week perfect.

The minute we walked through the door of Nihi Kai 501 we said WOW. This place is even better than the pictures. It has a beautiful kitchen (with tons of dishes and everything you\'d ever need), the living room has what looks like brand new furniture with a 32\" lcd tv (with great instruction as to how to use it to watch HDTV channels) and the owner told me that the beds in the guest room were brand new (and the one in the master was really comfortable).

The best thing about our stay at Nihi Kai (other than the condo - which was wonderful) was the beautiful grounds of the complex (it's like being at a botanical garden), the pool that sits right out by the ocean, and the short (3 minute) walk to the beach where we had the best snorkling of anywhere we've ever been.

If your looking for the best place to stay on Kauai this is it.

We stayed at the condo for 5 nights and were very happy. It was comfortable and very well equiped.Both the owners and the property manager were extremely responsive to any questions.

Casa di Amici is just accross the street. We had a great dinner there and Keoki's is near bye.

The grounds are beautiful, The pool was great. The owners pride is very evident in all the extra touchs.

We would recommend this condo to anyone.

My wife and I stayed with our 12-year-old son in this condo in early April 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The unit is very clean, well-maintained and up-to-date, just as it appears in the pictures. The kitchen is fully equipped (probably better than our kitchen at home!), there is a nice big living area, two good-sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, two full baths, and there is a balcony/table/chairs that we enjoyed our breakfast on each morning. We really appreciated the closet full of helpful items such as tennis racquets/balls, beach mats, beach chairs, snorkel gear and a mini-cooler. My son was thrilled to see the iPod docking station since he forgot to pack the cable to charge his iPod.

The property is also well looked after and an easy walk to a couple of nice restaurants. Brennecke's Beach across the street was fantastic for boogie-boarding while Poipu Beach about 100 yards further west had a great snorkelling area. Both beaches have nice sand for lying on and relaxing. We saw Hawaiian Monk Seals on the rocks or beach literally every morning we were there, and one day a sea turtle decided to pull up onto the beach for the day. I don't know if this is typical for Kauai, but no matter how rainy the rest of the island was, we had great weather in Poipu every day!

Overall, Maureen helped to make the booking process run as smoothly as I could hope for and we have no hesitations in recommending this condo to anybody looking to stay in Kauai.

We stayed at NihiKai condos and the unit we had was great! Very nice amenities, well maintained, with new furnishings. It was very comfortable. The kitchen was great and had plenty of cooking gear and plates. There were decks on the front and back for relief from the sun, my mother in law used it almost exclusively. The pool at the complex was great, and location a plus! Thanks Maureen!!

My husband and I took our two children (ages 1 & 5) plus my mother to Poipu for a week. We had a wonderful time and absolutely loved this unit (Nihi Kai #501.) It was beautifully furnished, and the complex was so well maintained. We loved the proximity to the beach, and the pool at the unit was great! The complex was also very quiet at night, so sleeping was no problem. We hope to return to the beautiful island of Kauai, and when we do, we will return to this unit.

My wife and I and our 2 daughters stayed for almost 2 weeks in condo #501 in July. We didn't want to leave. The condo is spacious and well appointed with everything you'll need.

I liked hooking up my ipod to the music system, and my wife and daughters enjoyed the wi-fi as they couldn't live a day without a computer. If we were tired at night we'd watch a movie on the DVD player. My daughters played tennis with the balls and rackets provided, and we ate many a meal on the back lanai with a partial view of the ocean.

I love body surfing and my oldest likes boogie boarding and being a couple of minutes from Breneke's Beach was heaven for us. My wife and other daughter enjoyed the more tranquil waters of Poipu State Beach, a short walk beyond Breneke's. At night we'd go to Koloa for ice cream and a stroll, or sit on the Nihi Kai wall and look at the ocean and the moon.

Plenty of room for 4 people, fans and tv's in every room, a great pool, perfectly manicured grounds; I could go on and on. Did I love it? You bet!

Booking was very easy and Maureen and Bruce just seem like the nicest people and really care about your stay there. We stayed in their other condo, 507, last year, and hope we can come back every year.

My wife and I, along with our 5 month old twin girls, stayed in Nihi Kai #501 for a week. The Condo and the experience were everything we had hoped for and more. The beach is close by, the sunsets are spectacular and the unit is beautiful and thoughtfully furnished. I would recommend it to anyone without reservation, and it will be our first choice whenever we return.

My husband Bob & I, along with our friends Dave & Nicole just returned from our Hawaiian vacation and thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay in unit #501 at Nihi Kai. The grounds at Nihi Kai are well kept and beautiful.

We were thrilled with the condo unit. It is beautifully furnished, well maintained, and extremely well equipped for our stay. We prepared all of our meals at the condo and were extremely pleased with the number of pots/pans/dishes there were.

Ceiling fans in the living area and bedrooms kept the temperature in the condo very comfortable.

The beds were very comfy, and the quality of the towels (beach & bath) were wonderful. We loved having the availability of the washer/dryer.

The condo unit really felt like a home for us, and all of us commented on how much better this was verses staying in a hotel room!

Thank you Maureen for sharing your place in paradise with us. Arranging the rental was worry-free, and we appreciated your quick responses to our questions. When we return to Kauai we will not be looking at any other rental units because we think we've found the best at #501!

this unit in #501 is the best well-kept unit I have

stayed at so far. It is clean and has a well-

equipped kitchen. The unit also has a CD player

with an iPod doc; a TiVo was a real plus because it

recorded the Olympic Games while we were out

bogey-boarding(it has one board in the unit). It

really is a great condo, has all the amenities my

family would use & want in a home away from

My wife and I have stayed in Nihi Kai unit# 501 in 2007 and 2008. The owners, Maureen and Bruce, are good people. The condo and the complex are simply great!! Everybody is so friendly! This unit is a great deal as it reasonably priced, beautiful, well maintained and has been renovated in the last few years. To my wife and I, it seems like a home away from home. It has everything you need to feel at home. The kitchen is completely equipped to cook any meal you would at home. The living, dining room and bedrooms (2) are all very comfortable with all the comforts of home. There is two full bathrooms so it is great for two couples or a couple with two kids. There are 3, count them, 3 lanai's to catch the sun or shade, whichever you want. We stumbled across the Nihi Condo's three years ago while staying at hotel in the area. If we had known about the Nihi Kai Complex before we booked the hotel, we would certianly have not booked the hotel, paying double at the hotel and getting less. The Nihi Kai complex is quiet yet very accessible. The complex is right across a small road from the ocean where you can sit on a small rock wall with other guests in the rsort to watch for whales, sea turtles and Poipu's famous sunsets. You are literally a two hundred yard walk to Poipu Beach Park with it's grounds and lovely safe beach for families (great snorkeling) and another hundred yard walk takes you to the Sheraton beach which is an absolutely fantastic beach. There is a nice, good sized pool which overlooks the ocean for those days when the beach is not in the cards. The mature condo grounds are beautiful and well maintained where palms and flowering plants abound. We have been to Maui and Oahu but we prefer Kauai as it quiet and laid back. It is so green!! We like Poipu better than the east or north shore as it is quieter, more consistent weather, easy to get around and as it is on the southern tip of the island where you get those fantastic sunsets. We have found paradise and a 2nd home. I know the owners have two units, #501 and #507 and they are both beautiful. If the owners, Maureen and Bruce, will have us, we plan on coming back year after year to stay in one of the units.
