When you’re packing to stay in our Kauai vacation rentals this month, be sure to include a pair of running shoes for each member of the family. Then join us at Poipu Beach Park on July 30 for the annual Kauai Family Fun Run. It’s all part of Koloa Plantation Days which Parrish Kauai is proud to help sponsor.
There are four events to choose from starting with the one mile Keiki Run for kids 10 and under, to the more adventurous 10 mile run which is perfect if you’re training for the Kauai Marathon. In between these two events are the 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk and 10K (6.2 mile) run. It’s a great way to stay in shape on your Kauai vacation and spend time with family and friends.
The course takes you past our luxurious oceanfront Poipu vacation rentals and beautiful Kauai Resorts. You’ll also get a glimpse of Kukui`ula and its award winning private golf course where our newest Kauai cottages are located. Along the way there will be spectacular views of the Pacific to savor. If you’re on the 10 mile run, the Allerton Gardens will be your turnaround point for the final stretch home.
Pre-Register for this Kauai event to guarantee a free race jersey. Registration is $30 for all events and the Keiki Run is $15.00. Proceeds support the children’s paddling programs at the Kukui`ula Outrigger Club, which is hosting this year’s event. Keiki on island will benefit with new paddles, jerseys, and race fee waivers to encourage participation in this popular Hawaii sport.
Everyone who participates gets free mini massages, food, drinks and t-shirts. Awards will be given to the top finishers and there will be prizes too. All kids 12 and under receive a special award for taking part in the event.
Race Starting Times: 7:00am for the 10 mile run, 7:30am for the 5K and 10K, and 9:30am for the Keiki Run.
Location: Poipu Beach Park on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
