Joanne has been in our reservation department for almost four years. Originally from New Jersey, she came to Kauai via San Diego. “When that job was moved to St. Louis, I met someone from Kauai…”

Local Tips From Our Three Experts
Salt Pond Beach: “Drive past the old airport at Port Allen and park close to the historic salt beds. You can walk to a more secluded area of the beach and be away from the crowds.” (Cynthia)
Farmers’ Markets: “Arrive early and check out the products in advance. When they officially open the market you know what stands to purchase from.” (Joanne)
Kokee and Polihale State Parks: Start at Kokee in the morning and spend the day there hiking. In the late afternoon head down to Polihale and stay for an amazing sunset.” (Belinda)
Favorite Places on Kauai
Poipu Beach: “My children and grandchildren love to boogie board at Brennecke’s. Poipu is our favorite family gathering place for a barbeque, luau, swimming and just hanging out.” (Cynthia)
Bike Path: “Located on the Eastside (Kapaa), it’s perfect for biking, walking or running along the beautiful Pacific. There are places to rent bikes, buy food and pavilions to stop and have a picnic lunch. During whale season it offers the perfect view.” (Joanne)
Costco in Lihue: “Stop by on the way from the airport before checking in and stock up.” (Belinda)
Reservation Tips Before You Call
“Know your budget range and the type of accommodation and amenities you want. If you have special requests just ask.” (Cynthia)
“Everyone has different priorities and you need to think about what is most important to you and your family.” (Joanne)
“Reserve early and have a list of needs and wants when you call.” (Belinda)
Most Memorable Guest Experience:
“I enjoy hearing guests say that our accommodations are beyond their expectations.” (Cynthia)
“When a guest stops to thank me for helping them select a property they love, or sends an email, it makes me feel good.” (Joanne)
After finding the perfect spot for a first time visitor to stay, I received a photo of her vacation with an invite to her barbecue on her next visit.” (Belinda)
