There’s a fabulous Kauai restaurant near Poipu Beach that was a must for our recent company celebration. Located in the Koa Kea Hotel and Resort, Red Salt is a personal favorite of mine that I highly recommend to all our Kauai vacation rental guests.
Last week, I brought the entire Parrish Kauai team and some company friends to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our change in ownership and branding from Grantham Resorts and Real Estate!
Red Salt opened in 2009 and quickly became one of the leading restaurants in Hawaii, receiving the prestigious Hale `Aina Award not once but twice. Amazingly, out of 5,000 eateries in our state, only 75 were recognized this last year.
My personal favorite is their juicy Prime Wagyu New York Steak with red salt fries and a trio of dipping sauces. Honolulu Magazine said it’s, “…worth a trip to the Garden Island.” I must say I agree with them…it is probably the best New York steak I’ve had anywhere. Paul is a fantastic host and the bar will always mix your favorite drink to your exact specifications.
Inspired by the name, you’ll find Kauai red salt incorporated into many of the dishes here. It’s the perfect accompaniment to all of their culinary delights including seafood. You can read more about our Kauai red salt here.
For our company celebration we started with Island Prawns dipped in Champagne Sauce, Lilikoi Beurre Blanc and Mango Avocado Salsa. That was followed by Crab Cakes, Crisp Kalua Pork Gyoza and Red Salt Poke Roll. Everyone agreed…they were excellent.
Ambiance at Red Salt is sophisticated, contemporary Hawaii. You’ll look out to the ocean beyond which is perfect for Kauai sunset. Dinner served nightly from 6-10pm.
