The sun always shines at Kekaha Beach and the Kauai sunsets here are magnificent with Ni`ihau Island in the distance. Our Kauai vacation rental guests come for the wide sand beach and fewer crowds. The sea sparkles and the land flattens wide and long.
After a day at Waimea Canyon, this makes for an easy detour. Located between Waimea and Polihale, the beach expands as you head west, with pull-offs along the way and shade tree clusters. If you’re here on Saturday, stop at the Kauai Farmer’s Market in this historic sugar town where the sweet smell of molasses once drifted in the air.
In calm conditions you can swim here and the surfing is excellent. No matter when you come, this is a fine place for walking or relaxing in the sun. Even though Kekaha means “the place” in Hawaiian, it is one destination that does not make every list of things to do on Kauai. Consider this a hidden gem on your Kauai vacation.
If you find the casual Westside vibe fits your profile, we offer Kekaha rentals to consider.
Choose from Frangipani with its private swimming pool and Kauai cottage to elegant Hale Lehua. Both homes offer central air-conditioning, classic plantation style architecture and close access to the beach.
Kekaha Beach Amenities:
Lifeguards, showers, toilets and parking. Kekaha Beach is exposed to the open ocean so use caution when entering the water. This is best for sunsets, walking and surfing.
If you have visited Kekaha Beach, please add your recommendations or questions.
